Call it anything you want, it's going to drive up the price of energy on Americans and American businesses. Meanwhile, China and most of the rest of the world, won't be playing by the same rules, so guess what that will mean for U.S. jobs, tax revenue on businesses, etc.

If America closed every coal powered electric plant and parked all the automobiles it wouldn't even make a dent in the carbon emissions worldwide. China and India's rate of growth and the associated emissions make any effort on our part simply self-penalizing with no global impact.

I'm not sure one can really trust the IPCC's supposed objectivity. The organization is funded by the UN, which sees global warming as a useful vehicle for its agenda.

Also the IPCC guides the input of the data into their report and selects which authors to use and review for the data.

I'm not saying that their "deep in the tank" on the issue, but their judgment is as clouded as a group who was funded by Exon-Mobile, BP or Pickens would be.

They are, however, a decent counterpoint to the opposition opposition and I read their material for that purpose.

Thanks for your comments. I agree that we must remain skeptical about scientific findings. As I have said in prior posts on this site, the strength of science is in how science is done. Each scientific finding must be able to be submitted to peer-review and analysis.

I would invite you to heed your own advice and take a look at the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC (at www.ipcc.ch)), which is composed of hundreds of scientists from around the world. IPCC scientists reviewed all the peer-reviewed and published findings on climate change to develop the Fourth Assessment Report. In it, two findings are noteworthy. First, global warming is unequivocal. Second, most of the observed increase in global temperatures in the last half century is very likely due to human-induced greenhouse gas concentrations. In IPCC terms, “very likely” means greater than 90% certainty.

With the evidence mounting daily against the theory of global warming - especially anthropogenic global warming - it would be better if you honestly reviewed the science - or possible lack thereof - behind your theories and entertain the possibility that you were wrong.

Always maintain a level of skepticism and make sure your theories fit the fact instead of trying to make the facts fit your theories.

Ignoring contrary evidence is wrong, as you all screamed loudly when it was the other side ignoring evidence.

You beat me to it! I was looking up the word so I could put it on my business card. I think it is the perfect word as well to embody all of those things as well. I am very impressed with your website and like the way you have it set up. Did you do it yourself or have someone do it for you? Anyway, I don't know how much research you have done on algae (specifically diatoms and green microalgae) as a renewable energy and as wastewater treatment, but I thought you might want to check that out! Anyway, I have a B.S. in Environmental Biology and it is refreshing to see all of these people starting to "awaken" as you did to the integral role that the environment plays in all of our lives. If you ever decide to take on any cases of an environmental nature I would love to help in anyway I can. I have always really looked up to Robert Kennedy Jr. (you should read his book if you haven't already called Crimes Against Nature) and wished I could help him in some way, but maybe you will change your mind and consider it. Knowing corporate law and other forms of law are just as useful for environmental crime and lawsuits and with your knowledge you could really make a difference. Anyway, keep doing what your doing and let me know what you think if you want to e-mail me write bluemonkeys2002@yahoo.com. (I studied monkeys in Kenya that actually had a blue tint to them in the sunlight if you are wondering what the e-mail address is about.) Take care, Amelia
